My Beauty Must-Haves: Summer Loving

I believe in a solid skincare routine and very minimal makeup. I'm always on the go, and generally rushing from a run or workout class, so I have about 5 minutes to get myself freshened up. I can't even be bothered with a makeup primer or an eyelash curler, it's all about the basics for me: lashes, lips and a dusting of mineral powder, and I'm out the door.

I'd like to pretend that I live in a climate where it gets super hot in the summer, but that's (sadly) not the case. As a result, this time of year I resort to my favorite sunless tanner from my skincare line and a good loose powder bronzer from Clinique (probably the first beauty brand I ever used).

Check out my top picks for keeping your routine light and easy this summer. Here is what's in my makeup bag, you'll notice that I'm not a brand loyalist, but I LOVE to shop online so my go-to is Sephora, or Nordstrom:

MAC Lipglass in Dreamlover

I pair these two together for a very natural, but nice gloss finish. I love MAC lipglass because it's not sticky or drying. The Mariah Carey collection (don't judge) was from the holidays when they had this amazing glitter display and it was a total impulse buy (I LOVE all holidays) but I've kept it as a staple.

Lashes

Rodan and Fields Lash Boost

Rodan and Fields Lash Boost

I am obsessed with my new lashes. For the last 6 months I've been using Rodan+Fields Lash Boost (yes, I sell this stuff!) and I am absolutely obsessed. I pair it with any mascara that I have on hand (you won't need much). I've never had eyelash extensions, but I always loved the look when I'd get falsies for a wedding or special occasion. With Lash Boost, it's like a special occasion every day! It's a lash conditioning serum, so it strengthens your existing lashes so they are longer, fuller and darker, without any side effects. Mineral Powder

Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Natural Beige

Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Natural Beige

I've been using Laura Mercier Mineral Powder (I use the Natural Beige) for years. It goes on light but has enough coverage to even out my skin tone and cover up any redness. I generally would avoid a loose powder because it's not as easy to apply "on-the-go," but I've learned a trick that saves me tons of time (and space in my makeup bag). Load up your brush in the morning with a good application of the powder, then toss in your bag for easy touch ups throughout the day.
